Questions

How are companies ordered?

Ordered by a published score: one point for each of the 13 services a company lists on its own website, plus one point for each of 8 facts you can check there. No company can pay for its position or a badge.

Why are there no reviews or star ratings?

Reviews are easy to fake and hard to verify, so this site does not publish them. Every company is scored instead on facts you can check on its own website, such as whether it shows a license number, publishes prices or offers a written guarantee. The same method applies to every company.

Can a company pay to rank higher?

No. Listings, scores and order are free and cannot be bought. The publisher, Backroom Ops, also sells marketing help to businesses; buying it has no effect on any listing or score.

Do these companies work with my insurance?

37 of the 38 companies we reviewed say on their own websites that they work with insurance companies or help with claims. What your policy covers is between you and your insurer, so check your policy and talk to your insurer before work starts.

What does IICRC certification mean here?

IICRC is the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, which certifies technicians and firms. 31 of 38 companies state IICRC certification on their own websites. We record what the website says; ask the company for the certificate if it matters to you.

Why are prices missing for most companies?

Only 1 of 38 companies publish any dollar price on their own websites, and restoration is usually priced after an inspection. Where a company does publish prices, they are on its page and on the published prices page.

Run a water damage restoration company?

Listings, scores and order are free and cannot be bought: every score comes only from the company's own website. Separately, Backroom Ops, which publishes this site, helps local service companies get found in Google and in AI search tools like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. Working with us has no effect on your listing or score.
